MS Word — HIT100 Course Notes Course notes for the Microsoft Word section of HIT100 Information Technology, University of Nairobi. Program Fundamentals Starting Word — launching the application and beginning a new document. Understanding the Word program screen — the Ribbon, Quick Access Toolbar, document window, status bar and view buttons. Giving commands in Word — using Ribbon tabs, dialog boxes and context menus. Using command shortcuts — keyboard shortcuts (such as Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+V to paste, Ctrl+Z to undo) that speed up common tasks. Creating a new document , opening a document , saving a document , previewing and printing a document , and closing a document . Getting Started with Documents Entering and deleting text — typing new content and removing unwanted characters or blocks.
