What our notes say
- Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a chronic, multisystem autoimmune connective‑tissue disease characterised by progressive fibrosis of skin and internal organs, vasculopathy and immune dysregulation. (Systemic sclerosis)
- Usually this is due to\nglomerular disease, although interstitial nephritis may also occur in\noverlap syndromes (e.g. mixed connective tissue disease, Sjögren’s\nsyndrome). (Davidson's Essentials of Medicine - 2nd)
- If CA-MRSA infection is sus- sensitivity pneumonitis, and connective tissue disease (Harrisons Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine)
- | Connective tissue disease–related | Rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, SLE, myositis, Sjögren's | (Interstitial Lung Diseases)
- NSIP in connective‑tissue disease characteristically shows ground‑glass attenuation with relative subpleural sparing, unlike the basal subpleural predominance of UIP. (Interstitial Lung Diseases)
- Topics tested: respiratory disease, sickle cell disease and anaemias, rheumatic fever, diabetes, TB, pulmonary embolism, connective tissue disease, HIV, gastroenterology, thyroid disease, gout, leukaemia and lymphoma, kidney disease and stroke.
